Caroline - Thank you for your response. I am not sure that I ever characterized estranged children as cruel people, but I have stated that many of their responses to me have been soul-piercingly cruel. There is a difference between being a cruel person and doing something cruel, which I suppose we are all capable of.

I understand that every situation is different, and I have written about that a lot. If I triggered you I am sorry. That was never my intention when I was writing.
