Exhausting is a good word. Yes! I want to focus on the beauty around me without having gunshots make my heart jump while I am bending over pulling weeds.

I think you are right about the human condition, and I guess what makes it so hard is there is a group of us who know things could be different. All we can do is continue to take the high road and spread goodness wherever we can.
