How interesting, Bruce, that you can glean from my short piece that I (we) have no hobbies, no volunteering and no purpose. Also, that you think we are doing this wrong.
First, I am still working, though I work at home.
Second, we have just completed a memorial garden, on a public greenway, that we designed and helped install, strictly on a volunteer basis. This has been a year and a half project.
Third, we have 7 grandchildren and are looking forward to spending more time with all of them.
Fourth, I am writing a book, have several sewing projects lined up, a spring garden to plant and an online art class I am attending. It seems that it will be a while before I will be able to take your advice and find a hobby or do some volunteer work.
Our lives have so much purpose and so much joy. Learning to navigate a new phase of our lives does not mean we are doing it wrong. It just means it's new and we are on a learning curve.
We are living our lives to the fullest, and just as we please.
