I agree completely. I have started giving my grandchildren their birthday gifts at a different time than their birthday. That way they don’t get lost in the shuffle. I gave my 5 year old granddaughter a twirling dress last weekend- 3 months after her birthday- and she twirled and sang and twirled some more. It was a true delight!
As they get older, I love the idea of experiences instead of things. Making memories they will never forget beats gifts they will never remember!
