I don't think schools are teaching cursisve anymore, and I think that's a shame. Yes, they taught us all the same way, but we all still have our own unique handwriting. I have never seen two people's handwriting that looked alike. I think there has to be a standard for people to learn how to write in cursive or else we would not be able to read each other's writing. Everyone ends up writing in their own style, though. I do think children should learn how to write in cursive. How else will they be able to read the old letters I am saving for my grandchildren?

My mom had beautiful handwriting and I was sad when she couldn't control the tremors to write beautifully anymore. I can see when things changed just by leafing through her notebooks. All of it is her, though, and I love it all.
