I had a head shot done when I as in my 40's for a conference I was speaking at. The photographer photoshopped my teeth ( without asking me.) I stared at that photo so long and decided I wanted my teeth to really look like that. I got Invisalign braces, had a front tooth crowned and then whitened. I have never regretted my decision.
However, I've also had a bone graft and extensive periodontal work to save several of my teeth. This is much more important to me than the cosmetic aspect. I know that gum disease is a risk factor for heart attack. My dad died of a massive heart attack at 61 and I'm convinced it was because his teeth were so rotten.
Healthy teeth are more important than perfect teeth! Whatever you decide to do is the right thing, Felicia.
