I have read some compelling arguments for getting the abortion issue out of our national politics because there are so many people who are one issue voters. In their mind a president who tears down our democracy like an orange bulldozer is ok as long as he and his party are against abortion. Blood may be running in the streets but we still have to fight to make abortion illegal because that’s all that matters in the world, to those one issue voters.

Abortion should be legal and women should be allowed to choose, but it makes sense to me that we have to stop making every election a referendum on abortion or we’ll never get anywhere. The rabid pro-lifers are willing to see the world burn over it.
