I love this response so much. You are so right about the value of staying at home and the fact it should be remunerated in some way in this society. You and I are lucky - I know that. If I had not had this wonderful man who is now my husband come along and be willing to take care of me and my children, I don't know where I would be today. Working 3 jobs just to keep a roof over my head, probably. As for the asset split with my ex - he had put all the debt in my name 3 years before our divorce so we could get a lower interest rate, so he walked away and let me take the financial tumble. I had to file bankruptcy and I lost the house. It was so humiliating. All of this is the reason I am so happy today! I have a loving, kind husband and a beautiful home in the mountains and I am doing what I love. It was a long time coming, but this is my reward!
