I remember flying to Seattle in June. The weather was glorious the whole 10 days we were there. I mentioned to the valet at the airport as we left that I had decided to move there. He laughed and said “We do this on purpose (meaning the weather) to trick people into moving here. Just wait for the winter!”
I loved your message about embracing the dark. It’s something I am learning as I now live in the shadow of a mountain that rises up behind my house and obscures the sun by 3:30 pm in winter casting us into the gloom of twilight. By 5:00 it’s dark. But I love it here so much that I refuse to complain. I’m finding ways to make the house cozy and love the cocoon of winter.
