I was lucky to have three years to death clean with my mom after she received a terminal diagnosis. It was a wonderful bonding experience filled with laughter and tears, and some fraught moments as well. In the end I was so grateful for the time we spent together. It made losing her easier because I was at peace that we had said what we needed to say to each other. I hope your mom lives a few more years and you get to enjoy some good moments together.
