I’m not sure I understand why people resist admitting they have hearing problems and then resist getting hearing aids. My stepdad makes me absolutely crazy because he won’t wear his. He paid $3000 for them and still won’t wear them. He can’t hear the doctor when he’s sitting 3feet away and turns to look at me to tell him what was said. I want to scream, Where are your damn hearing aids?!? Sometimes when I ask him that question they’re in his pocket, like that does any good. I don’t know what to do to convince him to use them.
There is a strong link between uncorrected hearing loss and dementia, so I would encourage you to pursue hearing aids. They’re probably much cheaper in France.
Sending hugs. 🤗
