I’m sorry this didn’t land well with you, Dennett. This thought process was a tool that has helped me make it through some very hard things- things I had no control over and couldn’t change. It was not meant as a universal truth that applies to all situations- even the most atrocious injustices and cruelties. I acknowledge my privilege in being able to step back and reframe my difficulties in a way that empowers me to change them. I certainly did not mean to be insensitive to those who are in war zones or other dire circumstances. I didn’t mean to offend.
