Jenny - I am always glad to hear from you and get your perspective. I wanted to share with you that I have recently reached out to my daughter with 2 letters. One was a love letter and the other was a letter of apology. In the letter of apology I laid out the ways I believe I failed her. I did not make excuses. I did not ask her to forgive me. I simply told her how sorry I am that I could not always be what she needed me to be. I also told her I was willing to hear from her what her experience was like whenever she felt ready to share that with me. It took a long time for me to get to this place. But I am only guessing at what caused the estrangement because she has never told me what prompted it. She just stopped talking to me one day. And she has never spoken to me again, or responded to my letters. She never acknowledges gifts. At this point, there really is nothing else I can do.

Thank you for your kind response and your concern for my pain. I appreciate you more than you know. ♥
