Ooh. I must respectfully disagree. I burned some of my journals because of the pain on the pages, and later, when I finally decided to go to therapy to heal a lot of those wounds I was sick that I didn’t have them. Also, I write a lot of things in my journals- funny things people say, places I go, my thoughts about people I love ( and don’t love), notes from podcasts I listen to, revelations I have, new ways of thinking, etc., etc. My journals are a treasure trove that I will never part with because they are my life on the page.
I would advise anyone who is considering destroying their journals to think long and hard. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
