Shannon- I went to school at Lee University 40 years ago when it was Lee College. That school and the COG are responsible for a lifetime of religious trauma, shame and suicidal thoughts. It was only after I left the church that I began to heal. I am not just an “exvangelical” but an anti-evangelical. So much harm is perpetrated in the name of that brand of Christianity. I feel your frustration with the irrational thinking of that group of people. Thank you for a great article filled with so much truth.
