Such a brave move!

Yes, throwing things away is painful. We were in the greenhouse recently and I picked up a pot with the glaze coming off in chunks and the edge badly chipped. I handed it to my husband and said "Throw this away." He stood there turning it every which way and said, "This side's still good. I like the feet on this pot. This is a good pot." I just glared at him until he dropped it in the trash.
