Thank you for your thoughtful response, Cesaly. You are so right about there not being a one-size fits all aspect to estrangements. I wrote about that in 50 Shades of Gray of Parent-Child Estrangements. And you are also right that we cannot judge other parents or estranged children based on our own experience. I have tried so hard to see my own estrangement from my daughter's perspective and honor her experience. We are all doing the best we can, even when that is not good enough.
