In the author's defense, the title of the article made it clear where she was coming from. Perhaps if the author made a bit more of an an effort to discuss what adult children might also do to help things along it would be better received; coupled with a followup article "This is what your estranged parent wants you to do."
I thought the author tried very hard to handle this mindfield in a senstive way.
