This is an especially cruel thing to lay on youth, and older adults as well. I remember the day I walked away from the church for good. It was the day the pastor preached a sermon saying that if we were not witnessing to every person we saw, whether we were standing in line at the grocery store or waiting for the doctor, that we were displeasing God. I decided that day that God would just have to be mad at me, because I was not going to do that. Not only that, I was never going to darken the door of the church again, and I haven’t.
