Seriously, I tried that way with my mom, but she let me know pretty quick that I was not her boss. She is a stubborn woman and pushing her just makes her resist all the more. I found the only way I could maintain my sanity was to step back and let her have it her way. It isn’t the way I want to do it when I am in her shoes, but this is her and not me. It isn’t even the way I want her to be doing it, but I have to let go of my need to be in control or risk destroying our relationship.

I hope your kids will step up and make you toe the line when they are in charge!
