We have nine grandchildren all 6 and under. Holidays and birthdays are angst-producing as we try to figure out how to find things that are meaningful (?) and are within our budget. I have no solutions. We just bumble along. Sometimes we get it right. Other times we fail miserably. In the end, all they want to do is explore the creek beside the house and play in the woods. One granddaughter chose to come to our house rather than go to a friend’s birthday party! That felt really good!
